Learners enrolled in the Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) program will have successfully completed the DME program and now plan to make an original scholarly contribution to their field.
After successful completion of the Candidacy Examination, which consolidates their chosen area of original research (literature review, hypothesis formation, method development), PhD candidates will begin work to complete, submit and defend their dissertations (data collection, development and synthesis of results into a final written thesis) under faculty supervision.
Note: Successful candidates are required to renew their PhD continuance (ES711) every 6 months (September and March), until they have with their supervisor’s approval, submitted a dissertation for examination by their committee.
